what we are doing to protect you

Eutopia Hospice is dedicated to providing high quality patient care while protecting our patients, staff, and the public during the COVID-19 pandemic. The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) presents significant challenges for all of us, but especially our older population and people with chronic conditions who are most vulnerable to the virus.

We at Eutopia Hospice strongly believe that the care we offer at home is of lower risk than the delivery of care in other settings, where patients are more likely to be exposed, thereby preventing unnecessary hospitalizations.

We are taking every possible precaution to protect our patients, their caregivers, and our clinicians from the spread of the virus, therefore we have incorporated the following changes to our operations in order to minimize the risk of spreading the virus that causes COVID-19.

 Staff members are required to self-screen daily and cannot work if they have any symptoms of illness.
 Every in-home clinician must pass a daily health screening before being approved for patient visits
 Patient care staff are taking extra precautions when visiting patients.
 Facemasks and social distancing are required.
 We are employing the use of telehealth technology when appropriate.
 We are conducting risk assessments on every patient who is referred to our service or currently on our service
 We require personal protective equipment when treating patients with confirmed positive COVID-19 tests and those under home monitoring for coronavirus.
 We have provided updated training on infectious disease control to all of our employees, including the proper use of protective equipment
 We’ve established a multi-disciplinary task force to coordinate and lead our efforts related to COVID-19

Additionally, we are internally monitoring developments, updates, and advisories from public health agencies in regard to COVID-19.
Eutopia Hospice recognizes that many peoples’ lives have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We continue to offer our thoughts and prayers for persons affected by this pandemic, both lo0cally and globally.

We remain 100% committed to providing compassion and care with dignity to our patients while serving our community as an important resource.
